[unison-users] Translation

Would the developers be interested in an Spanish translation of Unison?
I'm very grateful and would like to contribute in some way.
This would not be my first software translation.

If you’re also skilled at programming, there are probably other things to look at that would be higher priority — see the github repo for details.

If not, then probably the most useful would be simply being active in answering questions on the mailing lists (and bug reports on github). The community is really what sustains Unison.

As for your first suggestion, do you mean the manual, or the messages embedded in the code itself? If it’s the former, then I have no objection — though I’m a bit skeptical that the number of users that are sophisticated enough to want Unison and understand how to use it but don’t know English well enough to read the current manual is very large. For the latter, we looked into internationalization a while back and decided that it would involve adding too much complexity to the codebase.

Unfortunately, my programming skills are limited, just a bit of Perl. I am aware of the difficulties involved in internationalizing a code base after having worked --as a translator-- in the first translation of Taskwarrior. And I agree with your skepticism, but I'll give the Unison manual a try.
